Reflecting on another extraordinary year at CURE Zimbabwe

As we get to the end of 2024, we want to thank you for your support of CURE UK this year. While each year presents different challenges, what remains consistent is the impact of your generosity. It really has made a world of difference to the children that the CURE hospitals serve.

We want to say a special thank you to everyone who joined us for our candlelit carol service at the Tower of London. It was a beautiful evening, and we were so grateful to have so many of you in attendance – singing in full voice!

We’re also thrilled to announce that we hit our Big Give Christmas Challenge target: £22,500! These funds will provide 18 complex surgeries for children with treatable disabilities, at CURE Zimbabwe offering them a renewed future, full of opportunity. The match funding during the Christmas Challenge allows each donation to have double the impact - we’re hugely appreciative of everyone who contributed to this campaign.

This year has been extraordinary. Together, we made it possible for CURE Zimbabwe to provide 3,208 patient visits and provided 1,057 life-changing surgeries to children, completely free of charge. We were also able to reach 13,768 people with hope and spiritual healing. Across the whole CURE network of 8 hospitals, 18,936 life-changing surgeries have been carried out.

We also launched a brand-new Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery service, enabling children with burn contractures and cleft conditions to regain function and confidence. Another major highlight was the opening of our modern 42-bed children’s ward, which now allows us to care for twice as many children annually. These milestones represent thousands of lives changed—children able to play, attend school, and plan for a full and exciting future.

Now looking ahead to 2025, we know that the need is still great. The waiting lists at CURE Zimbabwe are long, with hundreds of children urgently needing care. Your continued support is what allows us to keep working through that list, ensuring that each and every child gets the surgical care they need.

From everyone at CURE UK, thank you for making this work possible. With your help, we’re excited to help even more children heal in 2025.

Wishing you a blessed and joyful Christmas, filled with His peace and love.
